Gracious and Loving God,

You created us to love one another and for our marriage to be a special bond of love, trust, and mutual respect between husband and wife.  I love my spouse, and I see far too many ways that we fall short of what you have planned for us.  Both of us have failed to express the love, kindness, respect, and the words that foster a wonderful relationship.

I call to You, Father, for help to turn my marriage around and strengthen it.  Help me to leave the grievances and judgments against my spouse down at your feet, along with my own sins and shortcomings before You.  I confess that I don’t have the words, thoughts, attitudes, or deeds to make my marriage better in my own strength.  I need You to fill me with Your grace and wisdom, so that I can share that kind of grace and wisdom with my spouse.

With Your help, I promise to do all that is in my power to improve my marriage.  I ask for Your patience when problems don’t disappear instantly or I don’t get the immediate response from my spouse that I was looking for.  Most of all I ask that You help me love and respect my spouse as you taught us through Your love to the church.

I believe that You make all things new—and that You can transform my marriage into a relationship of love and respect and joy.  Continue to bless me as I bless my spouse and marriage.

I pray all this in the blessed name of Jesus,

Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father,

You know what my child is going through right now.  You know how much I love _________________ and how much I wish there were something I could do to help ______________ right now—but I am helpless.  I don’t have the power to make things better.  Only You do.

You are the God of all compassion, and I know that my child’s situation matters to You.  I believe that you are able to perform miracles that change situations.  I pray that you will work in my child’s life and do just that.  Your grace is sufficient for every need my child has and every need in my life as well.

In my heart with complete faith in Your name, I declare with my lips that my child be whole and complete and loved by You.  Thank you in advance for how You will work.

In Jesus’ Name I pray,
Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for my family.  We are not perfect—I am not perfect—but I am so blessed and feel gratitude for the family You have given me.  I ask you to help my family to become united through the presence of the Spirit in our home.  Plant a love in our hearts for one another that will overcome any difficult days ahead.

If I am contributing to strife in any way, please help me in that area through Your grace and Your mercy to grow.  You know our family weaknesses and I pray that You will help us overcome by focusing on Your love for us.  Help me to become a family member who provides my family with a sense of security and peace.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.

Faithful God,

I am/We are getting ready to move.  This is exciting and I realize that this represents a new beginning and opportunity, but am also nervous, and even frightened.  I/We feel a sense of loss leaving friends and family.  There is a lot of stress because of the amount of planning and work that goes into moving from one place to another.

I trust You to take care of me/us in this journey. You will make straight paths and ease the transition.  Thank You.  I pray that You would help me/us in particular to find a new church, make new friends, and find joy in the things that You have called us to.  I pray that this move would bring the fulfillment that I/we have anticipated.

Thank You that You never leave nor forsake me/us.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen.

Joshua 1:9  "Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous.  Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Dear Heavenly Father,

I ask You to protect my family in all ways today.  I know there are evil forces and evil people in this world that intend to cause harm and destroy families.  I confess that I have many fears for my family, and I bring those fears to You and ask that You replace them with trust that You care for me and for all my family members.  You love families and you want them to be places of safety and love.

On behalf of my family, I express my faith and trust in You with complete confidence today.  You want good and not bad for each of us.  I thank You ahead of time for guarding our paths and turning our steps toward You.  I am certain that you will protect us in every way.  Lord, You are my family’s shield and defender.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father,

My life feels out of order and chaotic.  I am working on many things, but not doing any of them very well.  I don’t feel connected to friends or family, because I am running in so many different directions.  I’m forgetting things and then showing up late.

I know that You are not the author of confusion.  I know that the enemy of my soul is.  He would like to create distractions and worries so that I forget to trust and love You.  He would like nothing more than to rob me of my joy.  He would love to see me lose my sense of priority.

But You are a God of peace!  I turn to Your right now for guidance on what things I need to hold tightly to, and what things I need to let go of.  I have taken on too much and have become distracted by things that don’t really matter.  I know there are even some good activities that I need to stop in order that I do what’s best.  I am going to lean on You today and ask that You bring a new sense of order and peace to my life and my household.

Thank You for peace.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen.
