Dear Heavenly Father,

I feel as though I am being tempted.  You know that I want to do the right thing, and I struggle and fail many times.  I am often disappointed and embarrassed with myself, and am discouraged that I am so easily defeated.

I want to thank you that you understand what I am going through, and for offering me immediate forgiveness.  You promised that if I confess my sin, You are faithful to forgive my sin and to cleanse me from all my sin.  Thank You for still loving me, even when I mess up.

I confess that I don’t have the strength to win this battle.  I can’t do it.  What I am asking for from you is Your strength to overcome the temptations that I can’t overcome through good intentions and personal determination.  My own efforts haven’t worked.

Please give me Your strength.  Go before me.  Fight my battles with me and for me. Do for me what I can’t do myself.  Thank You for turning my weakness into strength.

In Jesus’ Name,

I Corinthians 10:13 "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind.  And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.  But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."
